Damon enrolled at Harvard in 1988 and appeared in student theatrical productions such as Burn This and A… My Name Is Alice.

Later, at the age of 18, he made his cinematic debut with a single line of dialogue in the romantic comedy Mystic Pizza. As a Harvard undergraduate, he appeared in minor roles such as the TNT original film Rising Son and the ensemble prep-school drama School Ties. He left the school in 1992, a semester (12 credits) short of completing his Bachelor of Arts in English, to star in Geronimo: Last of the Mohicans.Damon and Affleck wrote Good Will Hunting (1997) in the early 1990s.
