Early Life & Background

Beyonce Giselle Knowles was born on September 4, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to stylist and salon owner Celestine Tina Knowles and Xerox sales manager Mathew Knowles.

Tina is of Louisiana Creole descent, and Mathew is of African American descent. Solange Knowles, Beyonce’s younger sister, is also a singer and a former Destiny’s Child backup dancer. Solange and Beyonce are the first sisters to achieve number one solo albums in the same year.

Beyonce grew up as a Methodist and went to St. John’s United Methodist Church. She enrolled in dance courses at St. Mary’s Montessori School in Houston. Darlette Johnson, a dance instructor, discovered her singing when she began humming a tune and finished it, able to hit the high-pitched notes.

Personal Life

Beyonce and Jay-Z collaborated on the song “’03 Bonnie & Clyde” in 2002, which came on his seventh album The Blueprint 2: The Gift & The Curse. Beyonce played Jay-Z’s girlfriend in the song’s music video, fuelling rumors about their relationship.

Beyonce and Jay-Z married quietly on April 4, 2008. As of April 2014, the duo had sold a total of 300 million records. They are well-known for their private relationship, though they appear to have eased since 2013. Both have admitted that their marriage suffered as a result of Jay-Z’s affair.

Beyonce miscarried in 2010 or 2011, calling it “the saddest thing” she had ever experienced.

To deal with the loss, she returned to the studio and wrote music. Beyonce and Jay-Z traveled to Paris in April 2011 to shoot the album cover for 4, and she suddenly found pregnant while there.

In August, the couple attended the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, where Beyonce performed “Love on Top” and revealed she was pregnant. Beyonce gave birth to her daughter, Blue Ivy, on January 7, 2012, at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Career – Begining Of Her Work

Beyonce met LaTavia Roberson at an audition for an all-girl entertainment company when she was eight years old. They were put in a group called Girl’s Tyme with three other girls and rapped and danced on the Houston talent show circuit. After viewing the trio, R&B producer Arne Frager brought them to his Northern California studio and cast them in Star Search, the most popular talent show on national television at the time.

Girl’s Tyme didn’t win, and Beyonce subsequently said that the song they performed was bad. Beyonce’s father quit his job to manage the group in 1995. Beyonce’s family’s income was cut in half due to the move, and her parents were forced to sell their homes and cars and live in separate apartments.

In 1996, the group changed its name to Destiny’s Child after reading a verse from the Book of Isaiah. Destiny’s Child’s major label debut single “Killing Time” was featured on the soundtrack to the 1997 film Men in Black. “No, No, No” was the group’s debut single and first huge smash, released in November.
